First Go DrawThe Josey Gold Cup Senior Race
The Josey Gold Cup is a new event on the Josey Calendar this year. The Race will be a 5D barrel race open to any barrel racer 50 years old and over. Entries are open now!
Registration Information
- All contestants must check in before their first run. Check in will be held in the trophy room October 12th at 9:00am - 6:00 pm.
- All horses must have a current coggins. Out of state horses must have a 30 day health certificate.
- The deadline to get your name on the event t-shirt is October 6th at 12:00 pm. Shirts are only guaranteed through pre order on event registration for $30 (tax included).
- Thursday evening October 12th 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm we be the Mattie's meet and greet with live music, snacks, and soft drinks.
5D Barrel Race
- All fee's must be paid by October 3rd to be in the early draw. First Draw will be posted October 9th at 5:00 pm
- Entries will be taken until the first 100 horses run on Friday October 13th.
- Exhibitions are Wednesday Octboer 11th and Thursday October 12th. They will be sold on site for $5 each day of.
- The barrel race will be run in a 5D format with two long go's and one clean slate short go. Each contestant may run in both long go's for a chance to qualify for the short go. The top 15 of each D of both long go's will qualify for the clean slate short go.
Triple Crown Race
- There is no buy in- no fee- all you have to do is attend all 3 races and be 50 years of age by the first race on August 25th. This is based on a point system for each horse and rider team.
- Riders must be 50 as of AUG 25, 2023 (all ages will be figured from this date) and compete in all 3 events.
- TRIPLE CROWN Sr World Championship points will be awarded in each division (1D-5D) from the Lance Graves Legacy Project Fall Festival, Aug 24-27 McAlester, OK (Senior Side pot Fri-Sat-Sun) and the Josey Gold Cup 5D Senior Barrel Race Oct 13-15, Josey Ranch Karnack, Tx (2 long gos and short go), Seniors Only Barrel Bash, Oct 20-22, Shawnee, OK (2 long gos and short go)
